Myrrh or balsam (Commiphora myrrha) is a tree native to East Africa and the Arabian Peninsula. Its resin is collected from the knots that form on its trunk. Like incense, myrrh has long been used for its aromatic benefits. This mystical oil is known to calm and soothe the mind.
Myrrh essential oil is used in aromatherapy to relieve minor skin irritations, cuts, bruises and minor burns as well as for symptomatic relief of acne and boils.
